Cardio Core

What is Cardio Core? This 1 hour class is a combination of 30 minutes of cardiovascular training and 30 minutes of core training. What is your Core? The Core is all the muscles that surround and protect the spine. This class uses functional restance principles of stabilization and weight bearing activities to strengthen your Core. The tools used in this class vary from speed agility quickness ladders, jump ropes, steps, stairs, stability balls, and medicine balls. These are all combined to give you an intense workout burning from 500-600 kcal in a safe and progressive manner. This class is open to all abilities and fitness levels.

Functional Resistance Circuit

This 1 hour functional resistance circuit class is designed to increase strength while keeping your heart rate elevated. What is Functional Resistance? Functional Resistance is a method of training that incorporates balance and strength in a manner that forces you to support your body weight through several planes of motion. These movements are geared to mimic movements used in your everyday life. If you think about the things you do everyday, how often are you performing tasks from the seated or prone position. Functional Resistance is typically done while standing or on unstable objects to increase strength of the stabilization muscles as well as the prime movers. This method of training not only reduces the chance of injury but will burn more calories because it uses several muscle groups at the same time. From grocery shopping to outdoor recreational activities, functional resistance can enhance your lives while making working out fun. This class is open to all abilities and fitness levels.
